Certifications · why they matter
Supply Nation and Kinaway are not logos to decorate a footer with. They are rigorous, audited verification bodies that turn "Indigenous-owned" from a claim into a credential — and they unlock real, dollar-denominated procurement pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, and the communities that grow with them.
National
Australia's leading database of verified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, established 2009. The body that the Federal Indigenous Procurement Policy effectively runs on.
supplynation.org.au →That a business is at least 51% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander owned, managed and controlled — and stays that way. The verification process cross-checks Confirmation of Aboriginality documents against ASIC share structures, partnership documents, or trust deeds. Every certified supplier is then audited annually to ensure continuing compliance.
Every dollar that flows through a Supply Nation certified business is a dollar that is far more likely to be reinvested in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment, training, and community programs. Research consistently shows Indigenous businesses employ Indigenous people at far higher rates than the wider economy — so procurement spend doesn't just buy a service, it builds a generation of economic self-determination.
Victorian
The Victorian Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce — the lead certifying body in Victoria, and the peak advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses across the state.
kinaway.com.au →Kinaway is a registered charity and Chamber of Commerce dedicated to growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in Victoria. As the state's lead certifying body, Kinaway verifies that businesses are at least 51% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander owned and operated, and lists them in the Kinaway Business Directory — the registry that Victorian Government and Victorian corporate procurement teams use to find qualified Indigenous suppliers.
Kinaway funds itself through membership and corporate partnerships and reinvests that capacity into supporting more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses — events, mentoring, market access, advocacy. Kinaway certification isn't just a stamp; it's participation in a growing self-sustaining ecosystem of Victorian Indigenous economic empowerment.
Two certifications · one credibility
Supply Nation and Kinaway aren't competitors — they're complementary. Supply Nation gives us national reach and Federal IPP eligibility. Kinaway gives us deep Victorian credibility and access to the Social Procurement Framework. Together, they are the credentials that make Wulumarra a genuinely tender-ready Indigenous cyber and AI partner from day one.
Both certifications independently audit Indigenous ownership and management. Buyers don't take our word for it — they take Supply Nation's and Kinaway's.
Federal IPP, Victorian SPF, ASX-200 RAPs — the three biggest social procurement mandates in Australia all flow through these two registries.
Spend with certified Indigenous businesses cycles directly back into Indigenous employment, training, and community capacity. Verified pathways → verified impact.
